Swinney Pavilion Ribbon Cutting
Jul 08
The new Japanese Pavilion at West Swinney Park was dedicated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 31st, 2008. The pavilion’s design was based upon limited photography of Swinney Park’s original Japanese Pavilion built in 1910 and later removed in 1966 after a fire destroyed it. With permanent picnic table-style seating for eighty (80), an open-air grill structure nearby and night lighting for scheduled rental options with Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation, the project plays a significant part in the ongoing revitalization of Swinney Park.
