Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza Dedication
Jun 09
The Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza opened to the public Friday at Lincoln State Park in Lincoln City in southwest Indiana’s Spencer County. George Morrison, a partner at MKM and Will Clark, a Fort Wayne sculptor attended the dedication of the plaza. They were selected by the Indiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission as the recipients for the $300,000 Lincoln Public Art Program Grant. The team was commissioned after their proposal was selected from the proposals submitted by artists from across the state. The design includes a public art plaza consisting of a large circular plaza punctuated with limestone pedestals signifying key milestones in Lincoln’s formative years and a twice life size bust of President Lincoln.
