Libraries > Introduction
Library design is specialized knowledge you
can't find in a book, but you can find it at Morrison Kattman Menze, Inc.
Today's library plays a multi-faceted role in society. Patrons expect
choices in the style and delivery of information, and they want their
library structure to be an enduring focal point of pride for their
community. With over 40 library projects completed, we know libraries. Our
knowledge and expertise is reinforced with special training in public
library design through the Harvard Graduate School of Design. As your
partners for design and planning, we provide:

We continue to stay involved in issues of
importance to libraries by our activity and membership in the American
Library Association, the Indiana
Library Federation, the
Michigan Library
Association, and the Ohio
Library Council. In addition to professional memberships, several of
our library projects have been published in Library Journal. We have also
been presenters at several conferences, with presentations on library
construction, design, space planning and utilization. Our project expertise includes: New Construction,
Renovations, Refurbishment, Preservation, and additions to
Historic Carnegie Libraries.
In a constant effort to improve our designs,
expertise, and to update our clients on industry developments, MKM
publishes a “Focus on Design” piece featuring an analysis of our past
library designs and marketplace trends.
