The $6 million
relocation and expansion of the St. Joseph Regional Burn Center and
Regional Wound Care Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana includes an
Outpatient Burn and Wound Clinic and a state of the art Burn
Center. The Burn Center will include patient rooms, pediatric area,
hydrotherapy room, procedure room, education, and administrative
areas. It is expected to be completed by May 2008. |
Dupont Hospital NICU Expansion

The $5 million
neonatal intensive care unit expansion at Dupont Hospital includes a
15 unit private patient room wing, expanded procedure room, work
space, and medication area in the newborn nursery. The newborn
nursery will accommodate 20 babies with 4 additional NICU bays. It
is expected to be completed in early 2008. |
Calhoun Streetscape
Fort Wayne, Indiana

MKM was selected
through a design competition to redevelop the streetscape of Calhoun
Street from Berry Street to Jefferson Boulevard. Along with
provisions for returning the street to two-way traffic, the design
will enhance the pedestrian experience, build on the ambiance of
historic architecture, and create opportunities for concerts,
festivals, and other special public gatherings. |

White County Memorial Hospital and Medical
Office Building
Monticello, Indiana

The replacement hospital for White County is being constructed
for $20 million with expected completion in summer 2008. The
91,000 square foot hospital is located on a 28 acre green field
site with extensive expansion capabilities. This 25 bed critical
access facility contains private patient rooms, with a 13 bay
emergency department, obstetric unit, and a new surgery
department. It is integrally linked to the $7.2 million,
53,000-square-foot medical office building with construction
beginning fall 2006. It contains the campus cafeteria, community
rooms, clinical space, and hospital administrative departments
linked on both first and second floors to the hospital.

Woodview Assisted Living Facility

The new 58,000 square
foot Woodview Assisted Living facility on East State Boulevard in
Fort Wayne, Indiana will connect to the existing Woodview Healthcare
Nursing Home. The facility will include 54 assisted living
apartments, physical therapy, kitchen and dining room space. |

Medical Office Building Number Two
Mishawaka, Indiana

The second medical office building of the Elm Road Medical Campus in
Mishawaka, Indiana. The $7.75 million, 47,000 square foot medical office
will contain offices for the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center,
including a sleep lab, work hardening, infusion clinic, physician
practice, and urgent care. A pharmacy, durable medical goods store, and
added medical services will also be present. Ziolkowski Construction and
Morrison Kattman Menze are Design-Build Partners for this project. 
Calhoun Street Loft

The Fort Wayne
Downtown Improvement District held a loft design competition in
which seven downtown architectural firms participated. The loft
designed by MKM, with a $100,000 budget, is located above the Loaf
n’ Ladle on Calhoun Street. The design encompasses the idea of an
urban residence having the flexibility to also serve as a business.
The 1,700 square foot loft contains living areas and a studio with
its own entrance for separation of work and living activities. The
kitchen/dining rooms have the ability to become an extension of
either the living space or studio. During the day the dining room
can easily become the conference table for a business and its
prospective clients. |
 Pinnacle Healthcare Hospital
Merrillville, Indiana

This is a new $15 million acute-care hospital, located in the new Ameriplex Development in Merrillville, Indiana, a high-tech research, communication, education and healthcare park. With focus on patient care, this 18-bed hospital is designed around the concept of hospitality and wellness, and is organized to facilitate rapid future expansions without compromising current operations. The program includes five operating theaters, pre-post and post anesthesia care unit, radiology with MRI and CT Scan, laboratory, pharmacy emergency services, pain clinic and support. The master plan for this facility includes expansion to 72 beds, 10 operating theaters, outpatient surgery and therapies, and attached medical office buildings. Construction on this first phase is scheduled for completion by spring 2007.
