What originally drew you to your profession- and how has that interest evolved over time?
I was drawn to construction from a young age. I loved taking things apart and figuring out how they worked. That curiosity grew into a career focused on problem-solving, coordination, and seeing projects completed.
How would you describe your role in a single sentence?
I guide projects from design through construction by uniting teams, resolving obstacles, and maintaining quality, schedule, and design integrity.
What motivates you to show up every day — beyond the work itself?
I am motivated by knowing my efforts enable project success by averting costly setbacks.
What advice would you give to someone just starting in your field?
Listen more than you talk, ask questions, and spend as much time as you can understanding how things are actually built.
What’s a hobby, interest, or pastime that surprises people when they learn about it?
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes.
What do you value most in working with contractors and trade partners?
I value transparency and accountability. The strongest partnerships involve early communication and proactive problem-solving when challenges emerge.
What’s one misconception people have about Construction Administration?
A common misconception is that, unlike roles focused strictly on paperwork processing, Construction Administration involves safeguarding the project’s design integrity, quality, and schedule while mitigating risk and addressing issues before they escalate.
