MKM's office is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Pennsylvania Produce Terminal District honors the neighborhood’s past and future.

At MKM’s most recent Fishbowl, we welcomed Dan Ross for an inspiring conversation about a true Fort Wayne treasure, the Arts United Center. Designed by the legendary Louis Kahn, the building itself is an icon, but what makes it most special is the community it serves. For decades, Fort Wayne has rallied behind the arts, believed in them, invested in them, and ensured that this building remains a place where everyone has the opportunity to engage with art and culture for generations to come.
Dan walked us through the details of the ambitious effort to renovate and revitalize the building, from preservation and new accessibility features to the thoughtful design decisions that ensure more people in our community can fully experience the power of the arts. But just as importantly, he highlighted what this building represents for Fort Wayne: a hub of culture, a driver of economic impact, and a space where creativity brings people together.
Few cities are fortunate enough to have an organization like Arts United, and Fort Wayne was one of the first in the country to establish a dedicated foundation solely dedicated to supporting nonprofit arts groups and ensuring their success. That unique commitment has not only kept this community landmark alive and bustling with activity among our artistic and talented neighbors, friends, and family, but has also fueled a vibrant arts scene that enriches daily life, draws people downtown, and sustains Fort Wayne’s creative economy.
Be sure to join us for our next Fishbowl on Nov. 14 when we welcome James Kahn of ObiCai Restaurant Group and B1 Real Estate Development.
