Zach Benedict and Matt Sparling to speak at Healthcare Facilities Symposium

News

MKM architecture + design Principals, Zach Benedict, AIA, LEED AP and Matt Sparling, AIA, LEED AP, will be speaking at the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo in Boston on September 19 at 8:30 a.m. Their session, entitled “Swimming Upstream: Redefining Healthcare through Non-Traditional Facilities,” will outline the factors that define social determinants of health and explain the need for healthcare providers to consider effective upstream solutions. By presenting research assessing the impact nontraditional care settings can have on population health management, especially in rural communities, Benedict and Sparling will define best practices for the planning, design, and operation of effective nontraditional care settings and their impact on facility management.

The Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo was established in 1987 as a forum to explore how the design of the physical environment can positively impact healing and promote well-being. The multidisciplinary environment gives leaders in healthcare, architecture, engineering, building and construction, government and more the opportunity to connect, collaborate, share research, and gain fresh perspective on their industry.
