The Transparent Approach
MKM was invited to assist STAR Bank to re-envision the banking experience. The result is branch locations that offer clear and transparent services with innovative banking technologies. MKM architecture + design has had an ongoing relationship with STAR Bank beginning in the early 2000’s. In 2016, STAR Bank began an effort to re-envision the banking experience by redesigning branch locations. MKM participated in the design process to create an inviting prototype that was people focused and technology filled, providing an optimal banking experience. This prototype pushed the envelope, envisioning what a bank could be in the modern world and how it could best serve its customers. Updates to existing and new locations implement modern banking technology.
Throughout Indiana, branches offer a modern design aesthetic with pops of orange to compliment the bank’s branding. Each branch, however unique, is designed with an open concept floor plan with large expanses of glass, providing natural light. New tech bars providing banking services and greeting stations provide an accessible bank experience to customers. STAR aims to provide transparent banking practices and these design elements emphasize this commitment to customers. To-date, our design has been implemented in approximately 40 branch locations.
